This website is the official USA Today website. In this article researchers express that smartphones can be an addiction. These researchers discover that people depend on their smartphones for every little thing and that it is hard to be separated from smartphones. They give examples of symptoms that people possess because of they are too attached to their smartphone. The reason that this is exceptionally important to my topic is because this website helps define cell phone dependency and the symptoms that follow it.

This website is the official Discovery website covering an article on telephone communication. The article basically summarizes how evolved we have grown over the past thirty years. Thirty years ago we never envisioned the iPhone or any smartphone or even the technology that we have developed. Mr. Bran says that every major course in technology has changed the course of civilization. Cell phones will continue to evolve into better, smarter, and cooler phones which will only increase the use that these devices will consume. It’s important to understand that cell phones do have an impact on society, whether its negative or positive.

This article on the official CNN News website covers how often people use cell phones. This article highlights the information that they gathered off a study that they recently analyzed. It is said that iPhone users are on their phone up to twenty six more minutes more than an average android user uses their phone. They give percentiles on how individuals spend their time using their smartphones. This shows great importance to how people are using their time on their cell phones which develops and individual’s dependency on their phone.

This article summarizes all the different things that a cell phone is capable of doing. We don’t actually need to carry our laptops everywhere we go now, we are capable of accessing the internet with our hand held device that we carry in our pockets on a daily basis. We are capable of doing almost anything on our cell phones, ranging from playing games, saving contacts, creating a “To-do list”, take pictures and videos, etc. The amounts of applications that are available on a smartphone are almost endless. This in fact contributes to cell phone addiction. Maybe all of these applications are the reason why we depend so much on our cell phones simply because we can complete anything on them.

In this article, Chelsea writes about the things that people do while they are on their cell phones. In the survey that was conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of Jumio, seventy two percent of the people polled said that they had their smartphones within five feet of them at all times. There are huge percentiles in different categories that cover how people consume their time on their cell phones. Marc Barach stated "People view their smartphones as an extension of themselves, taking them everywhere they go -- even the most unorthodox places -- from the shower to their commute, from the dinner table to the bedroom," which happens to be true in most cases.

This means that people have changed their way of shopping, banking, and payment behavior after switching to a smartphone. This website also expresses how smartphones affect kids. Smartphones may affect the body development in the way that the addicting nature of video games may lead to the lack of physical exercise therefore leading to overweight problems. Eyesight is also as area that is affected because of smartphones. Since the brightness of the screen forces to readjust our eyesight constantly, it may trigger migraines and headaches. The brain development is affected as well since it will make it hard for kids to focus on large pieces of information since they are uses to clicking and jumping from one option to another on their smartphone.

This article is basically depicting all the positive input that people and surveys have said on smartphones. They talk about all the applications that come with a smartphone that makes our life so much easier. People have gotten in the habit of relying on their phones way to often as they should, but it has in a way made us more knowledgeable since we have unlimited access to research and find out anything that we want to find out. Our handheld device is similar to a computer; the only thing separating it is the keyboard and a big screen. The way that these smartphones have “Superpowers” is simply because of the endless amount of things that this little device can do. Doctors are now trying to see patients from different countries based off of the technology that the smartphones bring to the table. People in Africa will no longer have to walk a day to just go and see a doctor because doctors will be able to evaluate these patients with their phones.
